2. We verify the requester
Metagon may ask you to confirm control of the relevant WhatsApp number or provide another proportionate proof. This prevents unauthorised deletion requests.
Plain-language note: You do not need to keep using the Assistant to request deletion. We verify the requester so another person cannot delete your information.
3. We locate the connected records
The review may cover protected WhatsApp source references, redacted message metadata, Hermes session history, temporary media or transcriptions, linked tasks and approved project records created from the conversation.
Meta/WhatsApp maintains separate account and platform records under its own policies. A request to Metagon does not automatically delete information held independently by Meta. You can manage those records through the relevant WhatsApp or Meta settings.
4. We delete or anonymise the data
After verification, Metagon deletes or anonymises the applicable Assistant data without undue delay and normally within one month. If the request is unusually complex, Metagon will explain any legally permitted extension.
Some information may be retained when required by law, necessary for a legal claim, or required to document that a deletion request was completed. Any retained information is restricted to that purpose.
5. You receive confirmation
Metagon confirms completion by email or explains which limited information could not be deleted and the lawful reason.
Stop future Assistant processing
You may stop messaging the connected business number at any time. Where WhatsApp provides a linked-device or business-integration control, you may also disconnect it in the relevant WhatsApp Business settings. Menu names may vary by app version.
