What is positioning and messaging?

Positioning is the place a business holds in a buyer's mind: who it is for, which problem it solves and why it is the better choice. Messaging is the words that carry this into ads, pages and follow-ups. Good messaging starts from the buyers' own words, not from the company's.

The real problem

Most businesses describe themselves the way they see themselves. Buyers don't look for that. They look for their problem, in their own words.

When the words don't match, a good offer sounds like every other offer. Then price is the only thing left to compare.

So we start with what your buyers already say. The message comes from them. We put it in order.

Where it stalls

Where the message breaks.

  1. 1

    Every ad says something different.

Each campaign starts from a blank page, so your business sounds new every time.

  2. 2

    Buyers only ask about price.

If they can't see the difference, the price is all they have to go on.

  3. 3

    Your website talks about you.

Your history, your team, your values. Buyers came to find out if you solve their problem.

  4. 4

You explain it better in person.

Face to face, you win people over. On the page, the same story falls flat.

What's included

What you get.

  1. 1

    A core message.

One clear paragraph: who you help, with what, and why you instead of the other options. Everything else starts here.

  2. 2

    Buyer profiles.

Who buys from you, what they want and what holds them back, in the words they use.

  3. 3

    Problems in their words.

The problems you solve, written the way your buyers describe them, not the way your industry does.

  4. 4

    Value propositions per audience.

What each group of buyers gets from you, said in a way that group cares about.

  5. 5

    A hook list.

Opening lines for ads and content, each tied to a phrase real buyers use. Ready to test.

  6. 6

    A message map.

What to say at each stage: the ad, the page and the follow-up. One story, told in the right order.

How it works

Start with the buyers, not the brand.

  1. 01

    Listen.

We collect what buyers already say: the questions they ask, what they object to, your reviews and the messages you already have.

  2. 02

    Find the pattern.

We sort those words by problem, by audience and by doubt. The phrases that keep coming back are the ones we build on.

  3. 03

    Write the message.

One core message first. Then value propositions for each audience and a list of hooks for ads and content.

  4. 04

    Use it everywhere.

A message map for each stage: the ad, the page and the follow-up. Every other piece of work starts from it.

Ways to work

Three ways to get it done.

  • Fixed scope01

    The message, written.

We do the research and write every part, ready for your team, or for us, to use.

    • Every part above, in one written document
    • Built from your buyers' own words
    • Priced in a written quote
    ask for a sprint
  • Monthly02

    The message, in use.

We write the message, then put it to work in your ads, pages and follow-ups, month by month.

    • New hooks tested in your ads
    • Pages and follow-ups built from the map
    • Priced in a written quote
    how pricing works
  • Advisory03

    Your team writes, we guide.

We help with the research and review what your team writes.

    • Help with the research and the core message
    • Reviews of the copy your team writes
    • Priced in a written quote
    ask about advisory

What every service includes

Whatever you start with, three things come with it.

  • 01 · The person

    No hand-offs.

You talk to the person doing the work, from the first call to the monthly report.

  • 02 · The brain

    Metagon Brain.

About five years of marketing data, collected before Metagon was even a company. It learns from every result we feed back.

  • 03 · The system

    One place. Being built

Ads, pages, tracking and reports, connected and in your name. A client portal to see it all in one login is being built.

Metagon Brain

The AI is the same for everyone. The data isn't.

Anyone can open an AI assistant. Nobody else has our notes. For about five years we have collected what worked and what didn't. It started before Metagon was a company, and every result we feed back makes it sharper. So your plan starts from what already worked, not from a blank page.

It learns from patterns, not from your customers' private data. A person decides every change.

What we do differently

Not another agency. A system.

  1. Starts with your business

    Offer, margins and customers first

  2. Everything in one system

    Ads, content, pages, tracking, automation

  3. First-party tracking

Set up and tested after consent

  4. Learns from past results

Not a blank page every time

  5. A person approves spend

    Every budget change, in writing

  6. Accounts in your name

    Your ads, your data

Honest limits

What it does not do.

  • It does not invent a story your buyers would not recognise.
  • It does not copy what your competitors say.
  • It does not use claims we cannot back with a source.
  • It is not generic AI copy. AI helps us sort and draft; a person checks every line against what buyers said.

Answers

Straight answers.

positioning and messaging

What is positioning and messaging?

Positioning is the place a business holds in a buyer's mind: who it is for, which problem it solves and why it is the better choice. Messaging is the words that carry this into ads, pages and follow-ups. Good messaging starts from the buyers' own words, not from the company's.

What does positioning and messaging cost?

Positioning and messaging is priced in a written quote after a short call, because the work depends on your business. The work depends on how much buyer material you already have. Quotes are net, plus VAT.

What do you need from us?

We need what your buyers already say: reviews, emails, chat messages and the questions you hear every week. We ask you to take out names and contact details first; we only need the words. If personal details must stay in, we sign a data processing agreement before you send anything. We also need time with you to understand the business.

Is this the same as branding?

No, this is not branding: branding usually means the look, such as logo, colours and type. This is the words: what you say, to whom, and in which order.

Will it sound like AI wrote it?

No, it should sound like your buyers, because it is built from their real words. AI helps us sort and draft; a person checks every line against what buyers said.

Do you promise more sales?

No, we do not promise more sales. We promise clear work, honest numbers and a written reason for every change. A clearer message helps buyers see the difference, but results depend on your offer, your market and your budget.

What happens with the message afterwards?

You use the message everywhere: the message map tells your team, or us, what to say in each ad, on each page and in each follow-up. It feeds every other service we offer.

Who owns the message?

You own the message: the documents are yours to use, with us or without us.

Your growth system starts with one conversation.

Tell us about your business. We call you to understand it, then send a written quote: the work, the timing and the cost. Nothing starts before you sign.

Or tell us what to look at first.

A few lines about your business are enough. We reply by email.
